Have I mentioned how much fun I am having getting to decorate a HOME.

I finished sewing these throw pillows today. They are super soft minky solid fabric. I love them.

Plus, we finally picked out dishes for daily use. Del and I never had our own set of everyday dinnerware. I felt like it took us forever to decide, but this is what we ended up with.

Power Outage

Del had a call out last night around 9. Around Midnight my power went out. Baloo and I situated ourselves in front of the fireplace and got a nice big fire going. Thank goodness Del took the time and showed my how to make a fire. Baloo and I were toasty warm all night.

So working at a furniture store maybe is not the best job for me. I am constantly seeing things that I want. Meet Big Red as Del has kindly named him. I love him!!! This was originally supposed to be used as an entertainment center. We are using it as my china hutch/craft center. It is 8 /12 feet long and 8 feet tall.

My friend Jenn and her honey Ryan were in South Lake over the weekend skiing. We got to meet up with them for dinner and Ryan friend Rich also. The food was amazing and so was the company. So glad we got to catch up with everyone.

Del and I did Christmas Eve dinner so we could munch all day on Sunday! We do love our food. I used my Grandmothers China, along with our Champagne Glasses from our wedding that my Mother gave to us. I love having new memories and starting new traditions.

Trip to Scraps dog Bakery

Tahoe is home to the most pampered animals. I have never seen anything like it before and LOVE IT!!! So I went by the Scraps bakery and picked up a few things, (There are 3 Scraps Bakery in a 15 mile Radius). Baloo was pleased to say the list.

Did you have a wonderful Thanksgiving?? We drove from Tahoe to Mesa, AZ leaving Wednesday night, and arriving in Mesa around 7 am on Thursday. We had dinner with the family and it turned out amazing!

Today is my 29th Birthday!!! Oh boy, 29. Del had to work in San Jose so we got a hotel there. We went out with Del's coworker Shane Daily and his girlfriend Kimberly.

We went to Dinner at Mezcal in Downtown San Jose, then headed to the bar at the Fairmont Hotel for the live band.

So Del turned 27 yesterday. He thought he was 28, but after I explained to him that I am 2 years older than him, and I AM NOT 30 yet, he relized that in fact he was only 27 :)

So I order these cute hats from Buttercups and Bliss. I am so glad I did. They are THE CUTEST!! Plus it is officially fall here in Northern California so I am able to wear them now. Best Friends are the Best

Del's best friend came to visit from Michigan. Del was like a kid on Christmas morning! Jamie arrived Thursday night, we went out to eat at PF Changs, my favorite. Friday morning the guys woke up and headed north to do a little RZR riding.

Friday they also went to where Del is working at. Saturday they headed south by The American River

On Sunday we headed to San Francisco

It was a GREAT weekend. Thanks to Jamie for making the trip, and thanks to Jenn for showing us San Fran!!

So my sister Julie sent me a picture of an Apron that she thought was so cute. Her favorite Holiday is Halloween, and she throws an annual Pumpkin Carving party. Once I saw the picture of the Apron she sent me I knew I could make it. So I made one for each of my sisters. I hope they like them.

Driving To Michigan

Our current neighbors in the RV park have a dog named Lucky. They only come up part of the week. They where taking their dog swimming at the near by pond so I invited myself and Baloo along. Both dogs had a blast, and it is nice to make new friends.

We headed back to South Lake Tahoe for the weekend. We went parasailing at 1200 feet, rented some Kayaks, (Never had Kayaked, but it was AWESOME!!!) and went swimming. Great Weekend!!

We took to RZR on the out skirts of Gold Run. We found an upper and lower ponds and riding for days. Can't wait to go back and take the Baloo dog so she can go swimming.

Donner Pass

Del and I headed to Donner Pass Ski resort on Saturday for the Rock Climbing tournament. It was a nice 75 degrees outside. I never know what shoes will be appropriate for these types of events so I brought me heels, as always, and a pair of flip flops. It turns out that neither one of these shoes are appropriate for this type of outing. There was a "hay ride" that took you to the top of the mountain where the event was going on. Once up there though you were literally climbing all over rocks to follow the event. I opted for the flip flops. I managed pretty well and did not bust my face :). For future knowledge one should where hiking boots. Who knew?

When we were leaving the event one of the guys who runs it stopped us and asked if we had ever been through the train tunnels. We said no and he showed them to us. They are the old train tunnels that run across the lake from I-80 by Reno. They run for MILES. They have removed the train tracks but the tunnels are completely in tack. So neat to see and glad the guy shared a little secret with us.

Michigan

Del and I headed back to Port Huron, Michigan for the weekend. His brother Jon got married on Friday and I was lucky enough to be the one that got to marry Jon and Hailey.

We went to the wedding on Friday night, then headed downtown to Boat Night which is a huge deal in Port Huron.

Saturday we went to the Fort Graiot Beach (which is fairly new) it was so nice. We got to see the sail boats leaving for the Mackinaw Island boat race. I could not believe how many boats their where.

Sunday we hung out with the Oliver's and spend some time with the family before heading back to California.

We had a blast and can't wait to go back in September!!

South Lake Tahoe

Del and I fell in LOVE with South Lake Tahoe. Yes we know that they have 9 MONTHS of winter, but it is ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS there. We would like to go back for a whole weekend instead of just a day trip, way to much to do than just one day.

We went to Lunch at the Fresh Ketch. Very Yummy, it was at the Yacht Club so we had an awesome view.

Then we went on the Tahoe Queen Paddle Boat. It was a 2 1/2 hour ride and just beautiful. It was a bit windy but a great view.

Then Del wanted to head to the casino for the buffet dinner. We ate at Harrah's 18th Floor Buffet. Great Food, Great View. I can't wait to go back.

Lake Spalding

On Saturday we headed to the lake about 25 minutes north of us. The weather was a warm 78 degrees, the lake water was 49 degrees. (The fishfinder has a thermometer on it). The lake probably had about 6 boats on it. I love that is was not busy. We had our own private beach that Baloo could run around on.

So Del is currently contracted out through PG&E. The "show-up" is on their property up in Cisco, CA by Bowman Lake, (which PG&E also owns). I picked Del up there today after they moved the trucks from Williams back to Cisco. There is some pretty property back there. Baloo, as always had a blast. Just one day I want to know what she is thinking.

We drove up to Reno on Friday to do some sightseeing and get some errands done. We went to the buffet at the Atlantis. IT WAS AMAZING!!! It was a seafood buffet and it was well worth it. Del's co-worker Mike, and his wife Kristin live in Reno so they meet us for dinner.

Saturday was Pioneer Day in Willliams. There was a big parade planned and other outdoor events. Sadly it poured all day so we only made it out for the fireworks that they had. Awesome show.

The Delta

The Delta is approximately 1,000 miles of water way in California. Everything from little fishing boats, HUGE Yachts, and commercial cargo ships use this water way.

It was a bit too rough for our liking, we are officially lake people. It got really windy and the waves where too big. Baloo was not a fan. But we did a big loop of it too see what was out there and headed back it.

New Hogan Lake in Valley Springs, CA. So after we got done with the caverns we headed to the lake. We did a little boating action, ate some lunch, and tried some fishing.

Moaning Caves

We headed to Angels Camp to visit the Moaning Caves. In the begining these caves where named Moaning caves because they used to "Moan" and over 100 bodies where found at the bottom of the cave because people fell in.

Back in the day miners did try to get gold out of it, but none was found.

Yosemite National Park

We went to Yosemite National Park today. It is about 3 hours from where we are currently staying. It was Del, Me, Ken Galloway, and Baloo of course. They say spring is an amazing time to go because of all the snow melting causes alot of waterfalls. They were not kidding, the waterfalls where amazingly beautiful. We only did a couple short hikes, (Under a Mile) But there was definately alot to see if you are more of the atheletic type and want to pack in and pack out.

Well, we got all set-up yesterday afternoon in Lodi, we finished about 8 and I was ready for some food. We headed into town to find some and we ended up at the Lodi Brewery. Amazing food, this will probably become one of our favorite restaurants while we are here.

Booga goes to Ball Heaven

As with all dogs, Baloo LOVES balls! My sister Julie always has an abundance of plastic balls at her house. Well, we stopped by and Baloo (AKA Booga as Shamus says) was at first a little scared of the pool filled with all the balls, but once she figured out that she was allowed in the pool with the kids she was in. She found the perfect ball and that was it, she was out! Oh, to be a Baloo dog!

So after our stay in Cottonwood, we got up yesterday morning and headed to Jerome. I have never been there. The town is built on lots of hills and everything is very close together. The shops remind me of Sedona. A bit pricey, there are a couple of wineries which was surprising to me. It was nice to walk the town, but your not going to get much bang for your buck.

Verde Canyon Railroad

I got my work schedule Tuesday night and realized that I had Wednesday and Thursday off. I went home and Del and I decided to head north Wednesday Morning to take the Verde Canyon Train Ride out of Clarkdale, AZ. It is a 3 1/2 hour trip and absolutely FANTASTIC!!! I highly recommend the train ride, so relaxing and lots to see.

Spring Training

We went to the Opening day of SPRING TRAINING today! I love this season. It means that Spring is here (well, in AZ) and that St. Patricks Day is just around the corner. I had the day off and I am still trying to soke up every day that Del is off and we can do things like this.

Saloon Row

So yesterday was my first day off in 8 days. Del, Sandy, and I decided to do Saloon Row down the 88 in Apache Junction. We started at Tortilla Flats, Mammoth Saloon, The Hitching Post, then headed to Mesa and went to Toby Keiths were we met up with some friends and finally ended at Denim and Diamonds. It was a blast.

Del and I spent our Valentine's Day at Goldfield Ghost Town before I went to work. It is out on the 88 in Apache Junction. Very neat to see, lots to do. Take a tour of the old mine, visit the haunted portion of the mine, horseback riding, take old photos, and much more. The entrance is free, and you pay per activity. Awesome way to spend the afternoon.

I had no idea that horses had to go to the dentist too. Max was extremely drugged and his legs bowed in.

This is my friend Sandy whose house we stay at when in town for a short period of time. She pretty much rocks.
We love when we get to stay with her and play with all of her fun stuff. For me it is the animals, for Del it is her husband Martin's tools.

Niece's Birthdays

I have two niece's that were born 11 days apart. I think this is so awesome for them growing up together.

They are both turning FIVE this month. I decided to make their gifts this year. Olivia's birthday is today so in the mail this is what she will be getting.

A church activity book to keep her busy during sacrament. Miss Gionni's is still in the works.

You can add and take out pages. In the back of the book there is a place for her to keep her Book of Mormon. I hope she likes it.
